So I'm on the phone to my friend Charlotte and Martin walks by laughing in a guilty way.
"Why are you laughing?"
"No reason."
"So why are you laughing then?"
He laughs again, looks towards the house then pulls a face. Now I'm worried. Has he eaten all of the chocolate muffins I made this morning?
"I'm going in to see what you've done."
"You might not want to..."
Now I'm really worried. Has he broken a bottle of perfume or something? Smashed a mirror? Blocked the toilet? What? WHAT?
"...I've bought two air raid shelters."
"Huh?" OK, I wasn't expecting that.
"I've bought two air raid shelters. For £11 each."
Yes...my husband while left unsupervised for a few minutes decided to have a punt on two 1940s air raid shelters on ebay and won the auction. That's them in the picture above currently operating as sheds in the current owners garden.
I'm feigning annoyance but he knows me too well. Deep down, he knows I'm chuffed to bits. ROFL!
Haha! I wasn't expecting that either, even with the picture and post title!
What a bargain too - well done that man!
