I agree with Poppy that bonfire night is pants, I hate fireworks too. Glad she is safe with you and smelling a bit better.

Lucy @ Smallest Smallholding

Blimey, were we separated at birth? Cats, chickens, hedgehogs, veg...

We found a couple of little ones a fortnight or so ago, weighing just 320g or thereabouts. Luckily I know a lovely lady that runs Bedfordshire Wildlife Rescue who takes them in and overwinters them. I do a 'pog patrol' at night to make sure that I can get hold of any of the little stragglers. Although I'm glad to say I have seen a few monster sized hogs too. I have rescued some sad cases in the past - one was tiny and I found slipping over the frozen ice sheets on the lawn trying to find food (was promptly packed off to a warm bed, food and shelter), another one had tried drinking but was so weak that it had fallen face first in the water and hadn't bothered to get up. Luckily we found it, warmed it up and off it went to the hospital. They're such amazing creatures and I'm glad that people like you are out there keeping an eye on them. Thanks! xx
