Not a lot of blogging going on round here lately. And in about 10 days blogging is going to get a great deal harder.
In 10 days time, I'm flying out to Milan to start working on a project with a new client, which will probably take around 3-4 weeks to complete. And ad agency over there has had a copywriter leave suddenly so I'm flying over to give them a hand. And if I get on well, it may be permanent.
An amazing opportunity with massive potential. But everything goes a little pear-shaped with the news.
It means leaving Martin just at the point he's really hitting the car restoration hard and needs my support so he can focus on only the car. And not washing his underwear, cooking his food, doing housework and looking after cats and chickens.
It means rearranging and cancelling some jobs with other clients, clients I've worked hard to keep happy. One of which was a massive 60 page website worth thousands, which is just impossible to do at the same time as work in an office for long hours.
It means leaving Paxo just at a point where she's turning a corner with her health. We've almost managed to get her eating her layers pellets again, although we do have to process them to make them a lot smaller. We're convinced she has a problem with her beak, mouth or throat that stops her eating hard food. Fussy sod that she is, she dislikes the mash that can be made by mixing water in with the pellets. So she's going back to the vet next week to sort it out.
It means leaving the garden, which in itself is not too bad as long as the potted things get watered, the crops get picked and the grass gets cut. But I do that, not Martin. And he's very short of time. So for now, the simple life, my targets for growing a certain amount of our food this year may have to be scaled right back. Without being able to go out there every day and keep an eye on everything, there's no way I can achieve all the goals I set and I'm not going to beat myself up about it.
Life changes on the toss of a coin. And I couldn't be more delighted.
Wow, you've suddenly turned into a jet setter. Congratulations on securing the work, time in Milan will be amazing and you just concentrate on that and enjoy the experience. I know you will fret about everything back home but Martin will be there to see to things and I bet he's really proud of you, I am too.
